Coach Patrick is excited to be coaching this season!
Patrick moved to Walnut Creek in 1978 when he was 5 years old. He is the youngest of 3 boys and has 2 children; Coryell, aged 15, and Michael, aged 13. Patrick attended Walnut Acres Elementary, Foothill Middle, and Northgate High. After high school, he studied psychology at UC Irvine and business as UC Davis. Sports-wise, Patrick enjoys swimming, basketball, and the Warriors and the Redskins. Patrick started swimming upon moving to California for Boundary Oaks Barracuda’s and later moved to Walnut Creek Swim Club to join his best friend. He walked on to the UC Irvine swim team and has continued to pursue his passion for swimming with the Walnut Creek Masters.
Patrick believe swimming offers unique character building opportunities and a lifetime of health and happiness that no other sport can provide. Patrick seeks to share and spread his passion for swimming and is grateful for the opportunity coach the Dolphins this season!
I am 16 years old and a junior at Clayton Valley High School. This will be my 10th year on VDD. My favorite stroke is breaststroke and IM and I look forward to every swim season to reunite with friends. I have been a junior coach for the last 2 years and am thankful for the opportunity to be an assistant coach this season. My favorite part of coaching is helping swimmers improve their strokes and having fun while doing it. I am excited for another fun season! Go Dolphins!!
Hello! My name is Mackenzie Champion. I have lived in Walnut Creek all my life with my mom, my dad, my brother and my twin sister. I attended Walnut Acres Elementary, Foothill Middle School and I graduated from Northgate High School in 2018. I am currently attending Chico State University as a undergrad majoring in Liberal Studies so one day I can teach kiddos! I swam for Rancho San Miguel for 8 years, participated in water polo for 4 years, and have taught swim lessons for 6 years. I have alway loved being in the water and have a passion for teaching kids, so you can say I'm pretty pumped to be a part of such an awesome team! Go Dolphins!
